approx 4.15ct 11x9mm oval kunzite. kunzite was 1st found in conneticut but the 1st significant commercial deposit was discovered in california 1902. kunzite was named in honor of george kunz. it's a 6-7 on the mohs scale and it is recommended jewelers only use ionic cleaner. kunzite must be cut carefully or the pink color tends to wash out. best color is in the 10+ct stones. color fades if exposed to prolonged light or heat thus 'the evening stone' is best worn at night.
